August was another hot and muggy month in lower Alabama. About this time of the year fall weather is starting to sound really good but that doesn't arrive until October or November. Although we've had plenty of rain and the yards are nice and green there aren't too many flowers in bloom in August. It takes a little more effort to find them but there are plenty of beautiful things to see.
One morning was particularly wet and foggy. I loved the drops of misty fog on the grapevine leaf. The surface of the leaf was covered with a fine spray of tiny droplets and on the points of the leaf hung large drops. It was so simple yet beautiful as the rising sun hit reflected off the moisture. Some of the shots in this album were hard to get. I was crawling around on the ground in a friend's yard to photograph some low blooms when I looked up and found a large pink and white flower under huge green leaves. It was a surprise and well worth the ant bites I got in the process. Also in this album are three shots of cotton blossoms and some gigantic mushrooms we found in one of our flower beds.
