God has made so many beautiful things in this world! Some are obvious and some aren't. Everyone can agree on certain types of beauty but not everyone takes the time to see beauty in the ordinary or different.
I love the beauty of new growth on sago palms. It's delicate and the new fronds are so soft and pliable. They start all curled up tight and within a few days they start to unfurl and almost seem like fingers straightening out. That's an example of a beauty that isn't appreciated by all but then some people haven't even noticed them.
The native azaleas are bright, bold and obviously beautiful. They come in different colors but my favorite is the orange and dark yellow. I almost missed them this year. By the time the wind and rain stopped they were almost finished blooming. I found some blooming in two yards and asked permission to photograph them.
If you've looked through my albums you'll see that I tend to photograph some things year after year. The pink and purple clover flowers have little magnets that draw me back time after time. One day I was picking dewberries and saw some color next to some bushes. I went over to see what looked so bright and cheerful and it was these little flowers. With the sun hitting them just so they were as pretty as anything you could plant but here they were hiding in a field of weeds.
